Immigration By Marriage

Foreign born spouses may become U.S. Citizens by virtue of being considered “immediate relatives” under U.S. law.   Most people, however, are not aware of the significant differences between religious and civil ceremonies, where the marriage occurred, and how these and other factors are weighed by U.S. immigration authorities.

Not thinking through these details before entering the U.S. may very well result in devastating consequences for newly married couples wanting to enter the U.S. to start new lives.
